Waimea Library Closure for Re-roofing and PV Installation Starts August 31

Waimea Public Library (Kauai) will close temporarily for a pre-scheduled re-roofing and photovoltaic installation project beginning Saturday, August 31.  The book drop will be locked and inaccessible starting Friday, August 30 at 4 p.m. for the duration of the project.  Library items may be returned to any of our other public libraries.

While the Library is closed, patrons may visit the closest neighboring libraries: Hanapepe Public Library (4490 Kona Street; phone: 335-8418) or Koloa Public & School Library (3451 Poipu Road; phone: 742-8455), or any of our other public libraries.  In addition, patrons may log-on to the HSPLS website: www.librarieshawaii.org to:

* Renew books and most library materials online for an additional three weeks if there are no reserves on the items.  Only one renewal per item is allowed. Items that are not eligible for renewal are Hot Picks, DVDs, videotapes, and overdue materials.  Renewals will not be allowed if the item has been requested by someone else.

* Browse the HSPLS Catalog for book titles, eBooks, digital audio books, and our wide variety of online databases which provide access to full-text materials from thousands of magazines, newspapers, journals, and other publications.

* Get answers to brief informational reference questions by using the "Ask-A-Librarian" E-Reference service: select the "Information" tab, click on "E-Reference" and follow the simple instructions.  A library card is not required to use this service.

An announcement will be made when the Library is scheduled to reopen.
