The Friends’ Books & Music store by Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i is conveniently located in Kakaʻako near the Blaisdell Arena. The store opens to the public on Wednesday, July 15th. Thousands of books, CDs, DVDs, vinyl records, games, works of art, and much more are available for sale!
Generously sponsored by Hawai‘i State Federal Credit Union, the store initially opened at Ward Village in 2021 and was named Village Books & Music. No longer in Ward Village, but nearby, we have renamed our store to Friends’ Books & Music. We are very grateful to the five years of support that we received from Ward Village.
Inventory is restocked daily and rotated periodically. Please check back often for new items.
VISIT
We are located at 610 Ward Avenue next to the Jack in the Box at the corner of Kapiʻolani Blvd. and Ward Ave. The location is known as the “Obama Building” due to the mural of former President Obama on the Ward Ave. side of the building and it is also known as the former Galliher Law Building.
Parking – There is a parking lot for customers accessible from Waimanu Street.
Our affordable prices are marked on the book with our barcode sticker on the back, or on the upper right corner of the first blank page.
