LIBRARY PROJECT MOVES FORWARD WITH $30,000 GRANTLahaina—The fund raising campaign of the Maui Friends of the Library with help from the
Rotary Club of Lahaina to renovate the Lahaina Public Library got a major boost last week
with receipt of a $30,00 grant from Hawaii’s Atherton Family Foundation, board member
and head of fund raising Sara Foley announced. This part of the three phase project
involves remodeling the interior of the Library. It is the largest of the initiatives planned
with an estimated cost of $280,000.
“We are thrilled,” Rotarian Foley said. “The grant guarantees that we will be able to move
the interior renovation project to completion with just a little more financial help from the
community.”The Atherton Family Foundation “is one of the largest endowed grant making private
resources in the State of Hawaii devoted exclusively to support of charitable activities,”
