Major Activities:
The Friends of Kaimuki Public Library runs an ongoing booksale in the library using donated books. The proceeds are used to support library services such as programs for the public, incentives for reading programs, additional furniture or books, decorations such as Christmas trees as requested by the staff through the branch manager. In addition, the Friends group has also funded continuing education or professional development opportunities for the staff. They have also had annual or semi-annual bigger book sales in the covered area outside the library that are very popular with the community.
