The Friends of Waimea Public Library provides support to the Waimea Public Library through funds received from donations, grants, and craft sales. The heart of our fundraising is from the sale of oshibana (pressed flower) cards and bookmarks made by Friends volunteers.
Friends’ funds cover the cost of honoraria, supplies, and/or refreshments for library events, programming, and community outreach. In FY2024, the Friends sponsored a Family Literacy Fun Night, the Kekaha Pop Warner pop-up library, a Holiday Craft Fair, a booth at the Waimea Town Celebration, the Kekaha Elementary Lunch Bunch Book Club, the West Side Writers’ Group, and more. The Friends are also getting ready to celebrate the Waimea Public Library’s 75thanniversary in August 2025!
All donations and other revenue collected by the Friends of Waimea Public Library are used to directly support and enhance programs and services of the Waimea Public Library.
