Children in grades 1-5 will have the opportunity to read to registered therapy dogs and/or dogs in training from Assistance Dogs of Hawaii. It is a unique approach to make reading fun for children, with the ultimate goal of improving literacy skills and building self-confidence.
Space is limited, so parents/caregivers must pre-register for 15-minute time slots, and be present during the session.
If you need an auxiliary aid/service or other accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days prior to the program date. We will make every attempt to fulfill all requests for accommodations. All programs are subject to change.
