Events for Adults

Kahuku Public & School Library will offer "Tuesday Night at the Library"
events and other programs in September 2011.  All events and programs will
be conducted in the Conference Room and are suitable for ages 12 and older,
unless otherwise noted.  Admission is free: 

. September 12, 11 a.m. - "Humehume of Kauai: A Boy's Journey to
America, an Alii's Return Home." Adults are invited to meet author Douglas
Warne at the Kahuku Book Club meeting for a discussion on his book "Humehume
of Kauai."  Prince Humehume was the first son of Kaumualii, the last great
Hawaiian chief of Kauai and Niihau.  Humehume was four years old when his
parents enlisted the help of a Sea Captain to take him abroad for an
education.  When he returns home as a young man and Prince, Humehume
discovers much has changed on Kauai.
