"Maui's Fallen Heroes," a free program and exhibit, will be presented at Makawao Public Library on Monday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. The exhibit will be on display at the Library May 14 through 24 during normal public service hours.
Maui resident Janna Hoehn, a volunteer for the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C., will conduct the presentation and discuss the Maui Fallen Heroes project, in which she researched for seven months and found a photo of every Maui soldier (total of 42) who was killed in the Vietnam War. The photos will be part of the virtual wall at the new Education Center adjacent to the Vietnam Memorial Wall.
This one-hour program is suitable for ages 12 and older. Contact the Library as soon as possible if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed.
Makawao Public Library is located at 1159 Makawao Avenue. For more information, please call the Library at (808) 573-8785.
